Hi David i personally would'nt buy birds from an auction,as you could be getting someone Else's problem stock that they want rid of,better to find a local breeder

I agree with Ian. I wouldn't do so unless I know a breeder. Do you see it the same for a pet owner Ian

I must admit i have been to auctions, but never to buy,go have a look,if you see anything you like, try to get talking to the seller and try to arrange to visit his aviary, that way you see the condition his birds are kept in,who knows he proberbly has birds for sale there that suit you better.

Good point Ian. One will get to know more than a breeder and eventually able to choose what he or she likes.

Good point Ian. One will get to know more than a breeder and eventually able to choose what he or she likes. and also make a friend who you can go back to not only for stock but also for advice.

Just a thought just read in fancy fowl that a graded sale of poultry as keld at Oswestry showground in february this is where a top and wel respected judge goes around and grades all the birds prior to the sale the best trio in show (Buff Orpingtons ) went for £90 for the three .. Thats an Idea I havent seen yet with the small birds
