oh my goodness what a rascal your Mac is, going off for a romp in the park and meeting up with his buddies behind your back, he's like that stereotypical teenager sneaking out though the bedroom window cos their parents said they couldn't go to a party lol

Yep, HB, even down to the "trash the house while you're out" type of thing. He isn't a house-dog *shudder*, but there is an old plastic plant pot he gets into, the handle off a plastic bucket chewed into six pieces (that I found), while the bucket itself has a dainty row of scalloping teeth-marks all around the top of it. And one corner of his house has again been chewed. That has been this week. And the bone has gone! Guess what I will be getting next time out?

he sure has character that boy of yours, that's for sure lol you should try him on a kong Hezz, even just a smearing of peanut butter under the inner rim keeps our boys quietly slurping away for ages when stuffed with chicken or something similarly yummy you wont see them for a couple of hours...and when you do they've sort of tired themselves out too which can only be good lol

Too true, HB. Are they ridiculous prices over your side of the world? I have resisted for now because they are about $20 here for a largish one. We have had so many expenses lately, I have become all miserly. Maybe I should just grit my teeth, close my eyes and buy it, and hope it doesn't hurt too much! ;D Yesterday was fun - he teamed up with a 9 month old boxer. The pair raced around like mad things for about half an hour.

Ahhh Hezz, he is just telling you he wants to come and live indoors with you ;D, a nice comfy sofa to lay on, and lots of new things to chew ;D. My daughter, and i were taking the children out for the day last week and we got the kids and my mum in the back of the car and before we could shut the front door, Alfie shot out and jumped in the back with them, he practically sat on my poor mums knee, he wouldn't come out, we had to get the lead and coax him out with a biscuit in the end. Trouble with Labs they are people dog's they don't like to be left out. My Tilly cant wait for us all to clear off sometimes, independent type .

No way, Skysmum! Not inside! He wriggles and squirms his way inside the doorway downstairs to the office. It is the same level as the outside area there and he has a little routine by which he manages to get off the mat and into the room. Then he gets sent back out onto the mat, and the whole things starts all over again! Poor mum with a lab in her lap! I had to do that one day. We hadn't had him long and he chewed through his lead, but we didn't know until we were ready to head off on the school run. We found him not far from home, but too far to walk him home and still get to school on time, so tried to get him into the back seat of the car. Nope! Not going there! Planted his feet and baulked - I had to lead him over and climb in and call him in, right on top of me!! Was supposed to be going out after the school drop off, had appointments etc, and was covered in blonde hairs!

;D what do you do with them. Its when he tries to make himself very small that tickles me, if i just curl up like this they wont notice me and let me stay Ive got Alfie again for a week the week after next, preparations are already in place and ive stocked up on hoover bags, his hair drives me mad it rolls around my wood floors like tumble weed, no wonder my daughter has a painful shoulder, she hoovers three times a day otherwise the kids go out wearing him ;D.

Oh dear, will Tilly be talking to you in a week's time??? "When is that big blond bimbo going home!?!?" I can just imagine would be her speech bubble. For a relatively short-haired dog don't they lose some hair??? Mac's guilty look is a classic. I should try getting a video next time (there will be a next time). It is soo funny I have to be firm with myself not to laugh at him.

She doesn't know he's coming yet ;D, she is surprisingly quite when he is around, she knows that if she barks she attracts attention to herself and he is there to back her up and have a crafty sniff of her bum at the same time ;D she soon puts him in his place, she's a good girl and wont have any nonsense ive never seen a dog tip toe before but i swear he tip toes away in shame. He drives me mad and follows me round like a bad smell, love him, but ohhh he makes me laugh. Tilly does shed but compared to Alfie its nothing, his comes out in great clumps, its the double coat i guess.

Mac's latest antic: he chased a small feral pig across the creek bordering the park yesterday. Luckily said pig went to ground very quickly and daddy pig was nowhere around! I have seen daddy pig and he is a whopper! I am not tangling with him. I thought I had lost Mac up into the hills for sure, but he is getting to be a bit better at coming back (although not immediately ).

Ooooh he'd come of worse with daddy pig for sure wouldn't he, they sure know how to get themselves into scrapes don't they. Tilly has almost caught the fox that comes in the garden at night, he is three times the size of her and thankfully he runs for his life every time, im just worried he will stand his ground one day . Jen finally cured Alfies refusal to come back when SHE cleared off and left HIM he wont let you out of his sight now but then he is a wuss ;D.

oh, Tilly and a fox! That's about the same as Mac and a boar, yes. He may have a bit of bull mastiff in him, but he has no clue, really. Silly dog!!

An up-date on the Mac-dog. We took him to the beach yesterday - first time for us; pretty sure it was the first time for him too! ;D What a funny fella! I wish we had had the camera with us, as he really was trying hard to take to the water, but didn't know how to handle the waves. And we have reef off the coast all along the coast-line so we don't have real waves - more like large ripples! But he is getting so much better at obeying the come command and returning once he has gone to check out the other dogs in the park. We are in a good place at the moment.
