Hi, i have never kept any birds before and i'm looking forward to getting a budgie next week. I have bought a cage that is 40x40x56cm for 1 budgie, will this be suitable? I'm hoping he'll want to spend more time out of it then in it.

This is an acceptable size cage for one, especially if the budgie has some flying time. It is better if it is wide and not tall. Best of luck

Thanks for the reply BB, I'll see how he gets on next week but will probably buy him a larger one when he's settled in.

If your anything like the rest of us NBK...your find that one Budgie soon becomes two...and so on ...so get the biggest cage you can possibly afford..BB is spot on...the wider the better... But i wish you well...and we look forward to some pix of your new little one.

Thanks Zippo, hopefully getting the little fella today or in the next few days. Me n my daughter have been busy making a pull along kart outta lolly sticks and electrical tape after looking at the home made toys pics. Will post pics of the kart and the new arrival when he arrives.
