An any one recommand make or model of cage for a single budgie as mine is a bit small I don't wanna go silly size though Hello. There's no such size as SILLY. A cage should be as big
as you can afford. Ask yourself, how big would I like my
prison cell to be? Even with outside exercise it's still a cell.
Yours B.J.

Ok well that's slightly depressing but thanks for the reply what I meant is to be realistic size for one bird and if anyone had any good models as I am a little lost looking at all sorts or cages but I guess some bein more suitable than others for the need for one bird lol

Hi again Liz. Squashing himself into the pots is a baby budgie behaviour. I am presuming Winnie is still very young? Just make sure that if your pots are the type that have a little flap-door, you tape these down while he is doing this as they can pop up and out flies baby budgie. Perches should be of a size that your budgie's feet take up around two-thirds of the branch. Some smaller and larger ones are good too, but as a general measurement, this is a good rule of thumb. Bird bath - some birds do, some birds don't. You can only try him out with it and see. Plenty of us have had more success with using a large shallow flat dish like a pie dish, a shallow amount of water and adding some leafy greens, such as bok choy or basil. When? When he has time to dry off before the cooler night air comes in. He doesn't want to go to bed wet. But some birds just don't like to bath, but prefer a misting spray from a spray bottle (new or only ever been used for fresh water) and others (I have one) just looks down-right miserable how-ever and when-ever she is wet! So depends where Winnie fits into all this. As for cage size, I always recommend getting the biggest that you can afford, both in money and space. Since I am not in UK, I leave the recommending of particular cages to others who are. And a smaller cage such as you now have can be used for vet trips (heaven forbid) quarantine (when you get that number two ), or a hospital cage if you are ever in need of one.

Thank u or your reply he is defo getting a new cage. He is about 8 weeks ok so is still young and I have just taped up the pots as advised . Things u don't think about hey :-) He is a very chilled bird and does not scare when I reach into the cage to clean etc just turns his lil head from side to side. Once he settles in Abit more I will offer a shallow dish bird bath. Also going to offer some veggies tonight see if there is any interest etc
