That's okay. Sometimes you can have a toy in the cage for simply ages and they never look at them, but the moment you decide it is a waste of money and should never have been bought, that's when lo and behold, hey look at this, ohhhhhh this is interesting, can't leave it alone. My hen does the same with the attachments - if she can dislodge something, she thinks that is great. And if it is something that can be thrown off over the side even better!!! She threw the lid and all the veggies off a couple of days ago - silly me forgot why I always give them their veggies on skewers and pegged on! Now I remember.

I emailed the lady re the flat perch and she is making one as we spk. Winnie has been pulling the rope perch apart at the min sO as advised will look at toys that she can shred up lol lil monster. I was a bit worried that she was bored as someone posted this but I quests it maybe a hen thing anyway I am still worries about her running back and forth along the base of the cage trying to get out lol. Also I think it makes my dogs react and when they come over she jumps on the perch and sings away lol

Maybe one day down the line you would consider getting her a friend? Once you have worked on taming her and she has settled in Budgies love to be with their own kind and it is really great to see two budgies playing together. Your choice at the end of the day but just a thought As for the running back and forth thing, one of my budgies, Alfie, did that when he was in quarantine (when I first got him) It means she wants to come out of the cage lol ;D

Some of the best shredding toys are bark or leaves. In Oz, we use eucalyptus bark and branches. I don't know what you can find there in the UK for that purpose. Someone else may know.
If you can't get access to a safe tree, thin rounds of carrot or some other firmish vege on a hanging skewer are also good. They can rip them apart and also get to eat some as well.

Defo having a look on some of the links about toys to shred a play with as I think the ones in the cage r not very effective she likes mirrors and she will sit on her swing and groom her reflection and often sleeps there at night. We do let her out at night for a fly but how long is it recommanded to let them fly for ? She does get tired and starts to dip and hit into things ( there is plenty of things to land on)

Just let her out to play as long as she wants to/ as long as you can.

Yes I could let her out just was not sure how long u were meant to lol. I have moves a spinning mirror thing onto the roof of the cage she likes spinning it around. The poor swing has took a battering today being dragged along the top and flicked off its almost like she did a victory lap aroun the cage when it landed on the floor. Now he knows she can do it it's her fav thing to do lol

Yes, definitely showing her henny traits! ;D I find my little guys love to have a fly around first thing in the morning - as long as you can let her be out and she is flying around, is good. She is still a baby so will tire out faster than an adult. Then again in the afternoon, later, but before the sun goes down is good too. That's when they would be going home to roost normally. If she starts to get tired and not concentrating properly on where she is going, I would put her back so she doesn't bang into something and hurt herself.
