There are nearly 372 species of parrots in the world. How many are from Australia? I think Australia is where most parrots evolved - in Gondwanaland - when the world's land mass was mostly a big blob. They are our modern day dinosaurs. This is why Australia is often called an ancient landscape. South America also has a lot of parrots, because the two land masses were once joined, or at least close enough for the birds to fly to. A couple of places in Asia have some parrots, but nowhere near as many Australia and South America.
