All those Chinese type greens are really good to feed them. Pak choy, bok choy etc. They are all safe.

Any of them, Moogie. Mind you a bunch is going to go off before poor Elfie gets a chance to finish it all! You'll have to start cooking stir-frys for yourselves now. I alternate with my guys and get a bunch of whatever they haven't had the week before, just for a bit of variety. But the supermarket person wasn't entirely correct. From my weekly market foray, white stems - pak choy; green stems bok choy. Some places say the opposite. The people up here who sell it mostly are from the Hmong community. So maybe different areas give the same thing a different name. Don't forget to give it a really good wash, and I find the birds like the nob that is left when you cut the leaves off, instead of pulling the leaves off. Make sense??? Don't know how else to describe it, but it gives the birds enough greenery to nibble on plus some of the stalk as well. AND ....... the nob is easier to get onto your skewer.

I use baby pak choi - my 6 adore it. I wash the veg leave them whole (they are very small certainly) and put a couple of them in holders in the cage.
