Just wondered what sort of food you all feed your budgies and why thier favourite treats are? I feed Sweetie 'trill' and use 'avia' millet sprays as treats but would be nice to extend that a bit further

My lot get Trill. I buy 5 packets a fortnight.
They also get Basil, grated carrot, broccoli, sweetcorn, coriander, thyme, courgette.
They love sweetcorn and basil, those are the favourites.
I also bought a eucalyptus tree and occasionally give them leaves from it.

Mine have their seed mix which I buy from a place called Bamfords. They have the occasional millet spray and the indoor budgies love egg treat sticks.
The things that my aviary budgies love the most though are their veggies. I know that sounds strange but they dive on any veggies I put into the flight. They love carrot, cucumber, celery, brocolli, corn on the cob, plus a few others ;D

Pretty much an aussie version of Marianne's and Rachael's. With seeded grass thrown in each morning and some pilfered bottlebrush, eucalypt or grevillea branches. Home-grown sprouts too - I have some millet heading nicely at the moment and the canola seed-sprouts have a beautiful big fat leaf on them.

Can you post a photo of your millet Hezz?
I am growing some on the balcony but have no idea if it's fit for budgie consumption.

oooooo, now you are asking, Marianne! ;D Knowing me and how long it takes to get photos posted ............. but I have given mine some green and "hairy" -I know of no other way to describe it - Smudge spooked, but, Sparky is Sparky and will give every and anything a try! That was the first time. Since I have found a few "ears" very small, that had turned brown as they were hidden under the more vigorous growth, and put them together and Sparky demolished in no time. Not sure that Smudge even got to know what she was missing! ;D I have one head that is about 2" long looking after that one, and others somewhere between one and two inches. The tiny ones were more like one or two cms. So I suggest you pick one or two (or three or four, catering for your numbers) and see who is brave. See what I can do for you tomorrow.

Thank you Hezz Mine are also a bit like that. I did wonder what the huge leaves were, I thought they were weeds! My millet heads are a bit smaller than yours! I'll get a photo tomorrow morn..

Probably a naive question but do you feed your fiends veggies every day Marianne?
