Heres the situation i had bought one budgie, a male and trained him up to the point where he was flying onto my head but he still looked a bit lonely so i went and got him a female he took to her immediately. so i was training her up then we went on holiday so we had to leave them at a pet shop to be looked after for 2 weeks. wen we came back it was like she didn't even know me so i started to train her up again but with no success. please can anyone help me PLEASE!

Hi Otto and welcome to forum Apparently leaving her in the company of other budgies was not a good decision. You will have to do it all over again. It will take some time and effort but you will gain her trust again. By the way, she could have got serious illness from the pet shop.

Otto: it sounds like she has lost a bit of the trust in you but with time and a lot of patience you will get there again Is the male still tame? Maybe by spending time handling him the female will watch you and remember that she can trust you

Sounds like that it's not long before she will be tame again

A lot depends on how long you had the female before you left her for 2 weeks. If you are meaning a month or two, then 2 weeks is a long time out of that time. If you had her for a year or so, not so long, so sounds like you are going to have to start for the beginning again. With the male still tame she should re-learn her lessons.

thank you for all your replies Hezz: it was only a month or two, I am wondering if I should separate them or not?

No, I wouldn't separate them. She will do better with having the tamer male to be around. Often they will take the other's lead if they have become friends. So I suggest you spend time with them both but concentrate your time on the male and hopefully the female will pick up on his positive vibes and feel you are not so much of a threat.
