i am extending the outside flight can anyone tell me if normal bark chippings are harmful

I think that they can harbour bad bacteria and encourage slugs and snails ! paving slabs would help keep out rats and easy to wash!

Hi. I agree with Gaile... It's not good If it gets damp it turns mouldy Unlike out side in the garden where it seems OK.....B.J.

Thanks for that Gaile and B.J. I was looking at trying to get a different look and texture can you suggest other options. The flight at present is 9ft and slab base adding another 12ft.
