I have my cage sat to one side of a double glazed patio door, in an alcove with the wall on two sides of it. I keep hearing everyone saying about draughts and was worried and wondered about how people go on with budgies outside. I close my thermal curtains at night so the room is nice and snug and then I saw the pics of ruby5 chicks and noticed the cage is right in front of a patio door, also my dad has a Amazon mealy and his cage is right in front of the window. I am really confused. I dont want my baby to be cold in the winter but surely in the house she will be fine? Can anyone put my mind at rest? Attachments:

Hi helenmat, until a few days ago our large cage was in the conservatory but because of neighbours complaining about the noise (it did echo a bit in there) I've put it back in lounge where you saw it in the pic. The chicks are still in the conservatory in the breeding cage, I am not moving them until it is safe to do so. The neighbours will just have to plug their ears till then !! I'm sure if you're patio door is double glazed there won't be any draughts, also you have the advantage of opening the door wide when it's sunny. Our African Grey is not in front of a window. I read that Greys should not be in direct sunshine and need shade. I do push his cage to the door though to give him fresh air and he loves to come camping with us!!
