Hi all, i'm looking to fit a bird light into the canopy area of cage, only mesh I can get locally is 25x13mm galvanised, will this suffice?

yes that is idealBill , before use wash it with vinegar and rinse off

Well I have washed and scrubbed the mesh with vinegar, rinsed and repeat and put into cage, birds are out pretending to be Stuga dive bombers. Will post photos once they are back inside.

Couple of photos on mesh insert and light. This was a pretty easy DIY job, only things I particularly made sure of was to keep leads and wiring out of beak range, I also put ballast on top of additional mesh blanket as they can get hot adding 2 bolts as mesh stopper to stop it sagging and deforming over time. The birds haven't acteded differently with light on but it's piece of mind for me, another tick on the to do list. Bill
