I brought a really nice wooden toy from a pet shop the other day pet shop was on the way to some where so will not go back. It was nice bells and good chain etc I gave it a rinse as u do and all the dye came off the wood an smudged everywhere :-( Expensive as well look really good quality to !

thats because the dye is water based so its ok for the budgies to chew!!!

Ooooo ok so just dry it off and it would be ok ? this has happened to me many a time, the toy doesn't look as nice afterwards, but it's still safe for the budgies.

That is great! It is vegetable dye that has been used and these are budgie-safe. I would be more concerned about the chain and bells. You will have to check them regularly for rust, and make sure the chain isn't too long.Budgies can get caught up in chains, as well as rope and string.

I have checked the metal work and it's all fine I don't have rope or sting toys for this reason not worth it lol

I mean the metal will need to be checked regularly once the birds start to use it. Each week while it is getting a wash is the best.
