Hi Charlie You can buy grass seed from any garden centre or shop. Put some soil in pots sprinkle seed on it. Keep it damp & you'll have all the grass you want. You could get it from your garden if no dogs or chemicals have been put on it.....B.J.

I didn't know they could eat grass! Fresh seeding grass is their staple diet in the wild. If you can get any from a clean source (no dog poo, insecticides, not by a busy polluted road), they love it. Just wash and hang in a bunch in their cage. Instead of flowers, I've got grass growing in containers on my balcony. They eat dandelion leaves and chickweed as well.

As Stace said, they love wild grass, especially the seed grass.

I've grown Trill in a shallow container on damp kitchen roll then when it gets about an inch high, sprinkled a bit of their bird sand on top. I don't like using compost incase it's not sterile, but does ayone know if it's heated to a high temperature if this will kill any bugs? or would this distroy any nutrients in the soil?

Ruby, you can either just cut them off above the roots, or pull them out by the roots and wash the soil off. Either works.
