Awww thankyou everyone, well it went down well, SHE LIKED IT and has said that i should mount it on canvas, we'll see. Everyone was choosing their fav budgie ;D. Its difficult to explain how its made but you use raw felt and pull it out in fine layers (its like hair), you have to lay it on to a deep sponge and use a felting needle to work it into a square, keep adding layers then when you have your back ground you add the detail i.e the tree then the birds. I broke three needles making this piece and it measures about 10-8.

Sounds complicated. And time consuming. But glad to hear SHE liked it! ;D SHE's got no taste, if SHE didn't.

Thankyou Hezz and Marianne, SHE is a very hard task master, i usually get a pityfull smile and a (lovely) as she moves swiftly on to the next person so it was praise indeed. I only do it for a bit of fun. I rushed it in a weekend and ended up with a stiff arm and neck

I feel for you, I've had a stiff neck the last couple of days, so I know how much fun that can not be! But very good for a rush job!
