Thanks, Annie! I'm going to start this month I feel so excited. We had a little break due to introducing a little baby into the flock. I have a question, though - I have a large indoor flight with all the birds in. When I take pairs out to breed should I keep them in the same room, or should I move them? It'd be more convenient to move them to a different room, but I don't want them to be upset. XD

I didn't get your question properly, but other budgies shouldn't be able to land on breeding cages. But they can be in the same aviary.

Hi BB! Sorry, I didn't word that very clearly.
They'll be in a separate breeding cage, but indoors. Are there any benefits to keeping them around my other birds, eg. will it make them less lonely?

Hi It is better to keep them in the same room/aviary with other budgies, especially breeding ones which stimulates breeding.

So, we have our first pair! After discovering that Penny is actually a boy (oh lord), and renaming him Benny, he will be paired with Nigella! Nigella is a dark green cinammon dominant pied and Benny is a cobalt (I think) recessive pied. He has no black markings at all.
Any guesses on baby colours? Pied, obviously!

Benny and Nigella are all set up in the breeding cage! So excited! Nigella is taking a lot of interest in the nest box, but hasn't entered yet. Benny is head bobbing like mad, and feeding her some seed. ^_^

Benny and Nigella have been spotted mating today for the first time and she's spending a lot of time in the nest box
