Hi, even though I have a decent size cage for my two I really want a vision cage. I saw a tiny one in the pet shop and thought how nice and bright it looked. However I am just wondering if it would take the wieght of a play gym on top. It is all wood so a little bit heavy but the cage they are in is one piece whereas the vision seems to be held together with clips? How stable is it? I am also a bit confused about the sizes, does anyone know the name of the largest one as I will probaly be getting it from ebay. Thanks for your help

Thanks for link, yes that looks like the one but maybe I will try getting taller, as long as I don't loose on width etc. Just saw little Elfie, he is such a poser ;D
Marriane, when you say 'akward to clean', is that because it doesn't have pull out trays?

I have one and hate it lol, pain to clean as there is no tray so you have to take the whole top off, not easy if your housing flighty or untame birds in it, when lifting it you need to be careful it does not pop out, even when clipped in correctly I have had the sides of mine come out at the top and bottom, be careful which one you get some of them have larger bar spacing and are not suitable for budgies.
The food dishes are on the floor and when you put the clips over I found my birds would not go near them, being small shallow dishes they don't hold much food anyway, shape wise all the round bits makes it hard to fit paper in it properly.
Mine is currently dismantled and I am trying to sell it if possible however mine is not suitable for Budgies.

This is what worries me slightly, as my cage is so solid and the playgym being heavy it may buckle the sides with the clips. The largest one is actually smaller than the cage they have now so I think I won't bother. Shame because they look lovely, but thier health comes first soo will have to wait for now. Thanks for your help

You need to go for the widest cage you can fit: tall doesn't gain much as budgies fly across the cage not up and down, I can't advise you at all re vision cages though I'm afraid as we've never had one... I hope you find exactly what you'r looking for though (it's as bad as house hunting isn't it?!)

I have the L02 version, which is taller and wider of them all. I have 3 of the L02's, 1 of the L01 and 3 other cages that are different styles but keep in mind I have 28 budgies. (And several other smaller cages/hospital cages.) The L02 while large is best maintained if you keep it in a single place and not move it around like I was doing. The clips do come off after awhile if it is being dismantled. I had to dismantle everything a few times to clean it out thoroughly. The grid is great and all, but the newspaper ontop of the grid does not keep the seeds and poop from getting underneath the grill. Ergo, you have to remove the entire top cage, by clicking off the tabs and lifting up the top part and quickly placing it down somewhere..I agree that it is kinda difficult to hndle if you have untamed birds, as they can fly out any moment you lift the top part of the cage off...whew! Long post, haha.

Someone call?? Yes I do have a ferplast piano 6 as Stace rightly said and I think it is very very good! There are 2 plastic trays that slide out for day to day cleaning and the feeding system is very good.( Spare seed pots are very easy to find in pet shops should you ever need to replace one) The cage comes with a couple of plastic swings and food clips for millet/cuttlebone etc too. It is sturdy and after more than a year they still look like brand new (bar the odd poo here and there!!) The wire is coated so very easy to wipe clean too and there are lots of doors so you can access every part of the cage. Mine are all very happy in theirs- we have 2 with 3 budgies in each.
