On Sunday I was making some fennel tea and out of curiosity I poured a little into Munchy's spare bowl and placed it in his cage for him to try. He likes fennel so I just wondered if he'd enjoy the tea.
He ignored it until I offered the bowl to him, and he took three sips before deciding he'd had enough. Yesterday I placed a bowl of it on the windowsill and he went over to it to drink without me having to offer it to him.
So apparently he likes it, but is it okay to give to him?
I've checked the ingredients and the bags contain nothing but fennel seed, we don't add anything to it, and it gives 2kcal and 0.3g of carbohydrates for every 100ml, which is a lot more than he drinks, and that is all. Also, I wait for it to cool before offering it to him, so he's not at risk of burning himself.

Thanks Stace! That's a great help I'll have to get some plain camomile because our current one contains spearmint. I'll make sure that it's weak. Normally I don't have herbal tea more than once a weak so I certainly won't be giving it to him every day.

Always remember to serve any tea diluted, at 50% of it's strength.

Beat me to it, BB. I was about to say take your own tea and dilute by half.

I'll definitely do that. It will cool the tea faster too I like it when I manage to convince him to try something new ;D

Maybe next you can slip him a bit of chamomile tea, calm him down a little, and spring a training session on him while he is docile.
