Oh no, poor little Ned im sorry. My friends little dog was attacked last week, thankfully she was on the lead and while my friend held the other dog back with his harness her daughter picked up Jamie and the other dog then jumped up and scratched her right down her tummy leaving nasty claw marks. It was clear the young girl with the Boxer type could not control it at all. When she did put it on the lead she could barley hold it. Some dog owners are so irresponsible. I hope little Nedster is ok.

Poor Neddy! I am so glad he isn't seriously hurt, but he will be frightened now for a while. I do hope it doesn't change his temperament. Some dogs shouldn't be allowed out - I hope OH or yourself reported these dogs. They should have to muzzled in public.

Thanks everyone....I was not there and sadly my other half was so taken aback by it he didnt take there number There were 3 people together with 5 dogs all off lead and it was the 2 smaller dogs that went after Ned when he was happily walking off,all the owners said was "well, what can we do" oooh that makes me angry,as you said Hezz, muzzle then or keep them on the lead....Its to easy to own dogs and some of the people around my way havent a clue, one boy has 2 huge rottweilers (nothing wrong with these dogs if in right hands) but this kid like skysmum said can not barley hold on to them and they have not been trained on the lead ect....so sad

Aww sorry to hear about your little guy being bit. I hope he recuperates without any complications. I also would have requested the vet bill be paid. Socialization in dogs is really important...unfortunately some people choose to treat their dogs like people and babies and then carry them or don't socialize them and unnaturally force them to act weird/aggressive towards other dogs/people because they have been coddled so much.

I understand where you are coming from, Moogie. They shouldn't be allowed out with these dogs if they can't control them. Hey, but give a poor rescue dog owner a bit of leeway, please, because I am feeling quite guilty. When Mac takes it into his head that he is going over THERE to see THAT dog, I have difficulty holding him too. He looks like a wimp, but is actually quite strong, and I am no lightweight when it comes to strength. I am quite strong too. But because he had had no training before we got him, he is still working it all out, and more often than not acts on impulse. But hey, Neddy is going to be okay isn't he? He can compare war-wounds with Mac!

I too can understand, Moogie. I remember getting knocked over in a car park by a dog not on a leash, while I had mine on one. The unleashed dog wanted to attack my dog. It affected me for months - every time another dog ran towards me I cringed, and that just isn't me, normally.
