Had my garage door open for about 10 minutes yesterday. Came back and found a cold white and blue budgie in there!
He is now warm and spent the night in our bathroom. We were pretty happy when he started to eat the seeds we put in for him.
Anyone missing a budgie around this area?

Well done on taking in this poor cold budgie and I hope you find his owner. Although it sounds like he will have a happy home with you even if you do not.

Thanks guys Moogie I did see that but wasnt sure a budgie could have survived 3 months out in the cold ? Skysmum thats really kind of you thanks. Well the vets just called and no one has called to ask about him today.. Apparently there are some cats and dogs staying in the same room as him and he is a bit upset I feel so guilty but dont have a cage for the night. I shall probably get 1 now tomorrow though! Do you think he will be ok with 1 fat lazy cat in the house? She will probably have a sniff and then ignore him.. If not then Skysmum I may be back in touch!!

Awww poor little chap. I was in Linton pets at Ladds garden centre the other day and they have some very reasonably priced cages, just for now until you see what happens. Im sure things could work with your cat, it may be worth shutting the little Bud in another room if you are all out of course, just in case there is a Tom and Tweety moment . Good luck with things, keep us posted and let me know if things don't work out.

Thanks for the advice Picked up a cheap cage from there today and now he is safe and sound at home with us... Cat just looked at him and walked off so hopefully no issues there! Will definately lock the cat out of there at night though and when no one around. Will get a proper cage at the weekend if no one has reported him missing. The vet said he was probably quite young as some of his colours in his face have not developed yet! He's not tweeting much.. just when the kettle is boiling lol. He wont get bored on his own will he ?

He wont get bored on his own will he ? This is great news, soo glad he found you and is being cared for. If he is just a youngster you will find him quite easy to tame, just be patient with him and take things slowly, blink at him it shows them that you are not a threat, he will blink back . Give him time and you wont be able to shut him up im sure, as donnaleelee said a radio on low is good during the day, and who knows if you get to keep him a friend may be in the offing . We all start with one ;D they become very addictive. Mine are what i bred myself, alas i no longer have mum and dad and one of the siblings, they died, the mum was 13 when i lost her, so ive had 7 and there are lots on the forum that have many more. Once you know if he is for keeps we would love to see some pics .

Thanks for all the advice. Very nice, friendly and helpful on here! Will definately take things slowly Skysmum.. Will give him a few days before we let him have a look around the house! Very pleased to read your reply as he was blinking at us lots last night Other half been playing music while she cleans this morning and apparently he is chirping away like anything! Definately sounds addictive from your post! I can sort of see why already. Never had much of an interest in birds but love the little guy already. Really hoping his owner does not come forward now! Will get some proper pics when he does come out to play but have this photo of when I first found him shivering in the garage.. I think it must have been fate

ADORABLE!!!! Now dont quote me on this but i got a feeling by his eyes he isnt a baby as it looks like its a very light colour around the pupil, but as i said i could be wrong.... So glad you have the bug for birds now,i have my first bird ever and each day you love them more...If the owner did happen to show maybe it is now fate for you to have a budgie in your life anyway (be boring with out he he )

My budgie turned up unannounced as a baby in my living room a few years ago. He sort of popped his kit in the spare room and never left! He's hung around being a cute and adorable little nuisance ever since.
