Having 15 budgies, 1 cockatiel and an African Grey all in the lounge = lots of feather dust and lots more cleaning. I had an idea that if we put a radiator cabinet on it would stop quite a bit of dust falling through the top. It looked OK apart from the colour which didn't match the rest of our furniture. So this morning I took it into the conservatory (which has recently been re-decorated) to stain it a rich deep mahogany. Shake well before use it said on the can, so while I was doing this I was gazing out of the window at the rain when my big toe felt wet. Looking down, HORROR!!! who hadn't put the top back on properly??? Does anyone know how to get wood stain out of sofas, wallpaper, tiles and big toes please before my better half gets home

Thanks Mick Turps seems to be working, I've tried all sorts throughout the day and the stains are slowly coming out. The cabinets looking good though! Finished it off with a coat of varnish which I pored into a tray, stepped back to admire my handiwork and stood in it still, just a pair of slippers ruined this time ;D

No way. Hope you got most of it off and if not tell hubby you thought you'd get some throws for the couch as they are the new 'in' thing. Good luck
