Hello! I'm new to the forums and could do with some advice for my two new budgies. I owned a budgie before so i know how to take care for them but its a whole different ball game with their behavior, particularly the fact they always want to be near each other which makes one on one training and getting them back into their cage after flight time and wondered if a owner more experienced with multiple birds had some words of wisdom?

The one by himself is my old budgie Bobby who reached 14 years before sadly dying last November and in the two together the yellow one is Merry( 8 weeks) and The Blue is Pippin(9 weeks). I've had them two weeks. imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/sdc10246a.jpg/imageshack.us/photo/my-images/805/sam0227y.jpg/It's absolutely impossible to get them back into their cage as if they are more than a metre apart they start calling to each other and fly back together, normally on top of the highest thing in the room:)

Patience, patience, patience and persistence. That is the advice I would give. For training, I have had to separate two and have only one in the room, with the other out of calling range, otherwise you don't get a look in.
Getting the step-up procedure sorted before they are out of the cage is the first step, then at least you can get both onto a perch together to try getting them back into the cage.

Nice to see that Merry and Pippin are buddies already. It will help them settle quickly.

It's actually just pippin that's the problem when it comes to training, he's obsessed with merry and won't leave him alone, but i have discovered that some celery in the corner farthest from merry keeps him occupied so i guess it's just time now:)
