Im not convinced this girl is 12 weeks old, i think she is older and that's fine. Noticed her eyes in this pic. Any thoughts.

I did too, Skysmum, in the other thread. But I am not sure enough to say. I thought she looked older too.

Yep, managed to get to see her ring today and she is 2011 bird. Now i dont mind because i wanted her as a breeding bird for Ted and it just means that after her months quarantine i can begin the introductions this year rather than next and to be fair they did have a notice on another cage saying Breeding Budgies but they had been moved around. I am however miffed at the lack of knowledge the young Saturday staff have in these places, i even had to tell the girl that she was a female . I had a feeling she was a year plus but i didn't mind, but had i not known anything about buds and been told she was 12 weeks i would have believed it. For all that she is a sweetie and has been out quite a bit today interacting with me and loving being ferried around on my shoulder

Gorgeous bird skysmum. ;D Thought of a name yet? I agreee with Donna - it's a shame they don't train people for the careers they are in these days, even the Saturday staff and in every trade. You would think they would at least have a basic knowledge or be able to go to another more experienced member of staff to ask their opinion or advice. Oh ... don't get me started !!!!!!!

Thankyou sarah, it may not work out of course but we shall see, their welfare comes first. And i think Teddy is in for a bit of a surprise as she is a BIG bird .

I completely understand where you are coming from, Skysmum! My son and I went visiting some budgies in a pet store here on the weekend. The young fellow changing their water, seed etc was making sooooo much noise, banging the doors of the cages, slopping water everywhere, banging containers about etc. Every time he went near a cage the birds scattered and flapped madly. He put dry food straight under the water containers - one little budgie was trying to have a bath, and of course the water was sloshing over the side. Unfortunately I didn't have the time then to see any one about it ......... If he didn't want to be there on a Sunday ....... go away!!!
