Hope this isnt taken the wrong way but its just an idea . Ì often read that people can't get their budgie to a vet for lack of funds which I can sympathise with in these current times with people struggling to make ends meet. And then its sad to hear that the ill budgie has passed away .... But an idea which could help is having a 'vet fund' when we had our dogs racing we put a few pound away every month in a tin called 'vet fund' and that didnt get touched unless the dog needed to see a vet. Now I buy one of those saving tins you get for a £1 and every time i get a £2 coin it goes in the tin and it soon mounts up and before you know it there's over £100 in £2 coins in there. So thought I would mention it and hope it can help out some

That's a great idea, Julie. It's easier to put extra money in a box than it is to find the cash when you really need it.

These money box tins are sealed and you need a tin opener to get into them so it distracts you from going and taking money out until you need it .

I think everyone should have some sort of contingency plan for things like this. If saving is a hassle, then a money box is a great alternative. A small donation regularly soon mounts up.
