Had a call from someone I know asking me if I wanted her budgie a while ago because she did not want it an all the normal excuses etc she keep it in a finch cage in the shed with the bikes and lawn mower because it woke the baby with its noise. At the point she asked I could not take him due to having two budgies in two cages etc ( plus she would buy some other animal ) But I made a note of it leg ring to see if the breeder would have it back. Turns out one of the kids may have left the cage open or knocked it the budgie flew out the shed ..... Never to be seen again ....... But I was spkin to a lady in the pet shop she has a avairy of budgies she is not a breeder just likes them. She live about 10 mins from this lady and shed house .... Guess who turned up clung to the outside of her avairy. I had his ring number so I went around to confirm it was him it was and now named chip is in a quarnteen cage in the house and in a months time will join the outside lot in he bird room :-) I never told the lady with shed is that naughty of me ? I do feel bad but chips is inside in a massive cage with toys and veg and he is so happy such a pretty thing. Se used a lil millet an a big net to catch him. He is a lil thin but has had his spot on for mite etc and a bath The lady wih tw shed has put up picture and has cleaned ( for once ) the finch round prison waiting for someone to find him. Should I say anything ? whould u ?

It sounds like the poor little budgie has found a good home with lots of friends. A much better life than living in a shed with bikes and a lawnmower. Why would the lady with the shed want him back?

It is a tough one. I'm inclined to say that if she wanted to rehome the budgie anyway then there's not much point in telling her because it sounds to me like the little guy has found himself a nice new home It all depends how well you know her though and if she is really upset over the budgie escaping.

It's funny how the bird flew there thank goodness nothing killed him the lady said he has been hangin around for a few days she had millit hung up for him and has been waiting to spring out the house and catch him lol

Well....IMO I gotta agree with the others, I wouldn't say anything. Afterall the birds welfare is most important here as it cant have a quality of life in a shed?!

I agree too, don't say anything, I am so pleased that the little chap found a good home all by himself.

Glad he is safe and will be with lots of others and looked after. I would not tell the other woman as she does not sound like she should have had the budgie in the first place.

What a great story! That budgie had one lucky escape. What are these people ON, keeping a budgie in a shed with bikes/lawnmower? I would definitely keep quiet.

I personally would tell her. I'd hate to think if I'd lost a pet that someone had information but choose not to tell me Telling her deosnt necessarily mean she'll want Chips back & I'm sure after seeing some pictures she'd be fine & content he found a good home

I know she woul have it back if she knew but she thinks the shed is a ok Place to keep him she says he makes to much noise she says they r used to bein outside for all the advise I have tried to give her i don't think she gets it. Without totally ripping the lady apart on the forum I don't think it's the best place for him but saying that if someone knew something and did not say I would be mad !
