My two male budgies have always got along well, but it seems that over the past few weeks their relationship has reached a new level of intensity. They have always done quite a bit of displaying to each other, but now they seem to interact more than ever, spending a lot of time preening and feeding each other, and sometimes just sitting with their faces together making tiny, tiny little sounds. It is the loveliest thing to watch. ;D My question is - are they gay or are they just so full of male hormones (perhaps having recently become sexually mature?) that they are just treating each other as a female for the lack of any real ones around - sorry boys - ! Whatever is going on I am just delighted that they seem to be having such a lovely time together!

It's just that there are no females around.

We call it Bromance , its so lovely. My two boys often take themselves off for a gossip and a beak tapping session to get away from the girls ;D

Just think of it as lads at the pub with their arm around each other's shoulder. I love those tiny little peepy noises they make - makes me go all gooey.
