I am helping a friend set up and run his website and forum, however the people who are hosting it have set it up but not given me access to change anything on the website, they are charging to host it which is fine but also charging to change and add things to it which if I had access I could do myself. It is not being updated with the software updates so I am rather irritated about it to be honest.
So for those of you with websites which have forums (or not) who do you use to host the server?
I am looking for someone who is professional and is able to help us set it up originally and provide tech support if needed or if something goes wrong, but other than that I want someone who will then allow us access so I can add and delete content as required.
Any suggestions out there, because at the moment we are being ripped off, don't need a huge amount of space at the moment for it but will look to expand it in the future.

I used 1&1 which has great templates and is really easy to use yourself and packages are cheap.

Does it also have forum capabilities so I can have a forum off the site as well, can't find anything about it on there.

No but you should be able to set up a phpbb forum up for free and link it on the website.
