The temperature here this morning is -2 and all the snow is now ice. Walking my youngest to school I made him hold my hand and kept telling him to be careful. Not far from school it was ME who slid on the ice! I do have to say it was performed with a certain amount of style though. A nice graceful slide and I stayed on my feet, no idea how I got away with it so lightly.... Could've been worse-I've only got to deal with smug 7 year old saying "Mum you are supposed to be careful" and not any bruises, phew!!

Did you not manage to get a triple toe loop in whilst doing that Sarah?! Dont worry, your youngest will forget it by the time he gets in his first lesson....I hope! ;D

Oh, Sarah, I can just imagine the pair of you!! ;D Happy for you that you didn't end up on your backside - that would really have made your little fella's day. ;D

If you stayed on your feet, it's all good.
I remember skidding this way and that when I was a kid walking on ice on my way to school. In my head, it seemed to be accompanied by cartoon drum sounds.

This is a very old, and not so funny one but still may work for Sarah A boy was very late to school and the teacher was furious. He asked the boy; why are you late? The boy replied; it is snowing outside and it was very slippery out there. When I took a step towards school, I slipped two steps back towards home. The teacher asked the boy; then how did you reach the school now? The boy replied; I turned my face towards home. So when I took a step towards home, I slipped two steps back towards the school, and that’s how I reached school
