Whilst on the subject of eggs and food . Ive always been a tad confused with the dried egg food, as in, when i mix it dry in with some seed how long should this be available to them, i know when its wet its just 4-5 hours or so but not sure about dried. This they WILL eat thank goodness, it helps Jo with his FM.

I don't know about dried egg food you mix with seeds. Where do you get it?
I just give them the sticks and they demolish them really quickly. Because quite a lot of it gets wasted (as v brittle) I put a cup underneath to try to collect the bits and they usually wolf that as well.

It comes in a bag and you can get it at most good pet shops, you can serve it dry or add warm water to make a porridge for when they are feeding young or for the babies to feed on. Im sorry i cant remember the name of the last bag i bought because i always transfer it into a sealed kilna jar.

I just sprinkle some over their seed when I remember, and when they are moulting. I figure it is dried in the packet and lasts ages, so it should do the same on the seed. I completely change the seed in the pots about twice a week (maybe once if like now they have lots of grass and not eating as much seed).

Hi. Why don't you try this You can't beat home made.
EGG FOOD RECIPE
Here's an old Eggfood recipe its a simple basic mix that's stood the test of time.
To make less or more, just, 1/2, 1/4 or double up the ingredients. 1. You will need 6 eggs & a small 300g pack of Digestive biscuits 2. Boil the eggs 15 to 20min or so. 3. Crush biscuits to crumbs. 4. Chop the eggs into small pieces. 5. Crush shells to powder, add to eggs. 6. Add biscuit to egg a little at a time, mix to a crumbly consistency. Job done, divide & freeze into feed amounts. Not more than 1 teaspoon per bird. After thawing add anything edible to the mix if you feel it necessary. Yours B. J
