Haha Starlingqueen! My hahns do the same. Scream and then say 'shut up, be quiet' lol. If anyone tries to say anything nice after like 'good boy' we are firmly told to 'shut up' I'm just very glad they never learned to swear ;-)

budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/thread/5205/diamond-dove-genetics?scrollTo=69656&page=1Hi Starling queen, this is a thread you may be interested in. I have budgies, diamond doves and Chinese button quails in 2 large aviaries that seem to get on well. I also rescued a gold finch that was caught by the cat and is no longer able to fly. He happily joined the birds and has been living with us for a few years now. He hops from branch to branch, and is an absolute star at hang gliding! I tried to rescue a starling in similar circumstances, but she could not adjust and died within a few days. She may have had an internal injury or perhaps she could not accept being in captivity. I've tried turquoisine parrots, but this was an absolute disaster in the breeding season as the budgies and parrots were very territorial. The parrots had to go. Let us know how you get on!!!

Doves basically eat the same as budgies, which makes it real easy. Their nests are very primitive, see picture. They make an untidy nest from a few twigs on a base. The base can be wire netting or board, as long as the edges are up a bit to stop the babies from falling out of the nest. In our aviaries we have a few nest bases they can choose from. I would put the base in a corner furthest away from the budgie nest boxes, to avoid budgie territorial behaviour. Let us know how you get on!
