After months of search, I found this liquid calcium in the local market. The pet shop owner said that it was safe for budgies as it is for poultry too. But he also said that ivermectin is never made in (0.1), and wanted to sell me ivermectin which is for horses. So you can tell how much he is right. If anyone can tell or find out in their next visit to avian vet, whether or not VETOPHOS is safe for budgies and can used as Calcium Supplement. Attachments:

BB, I'm no expert but the Australian budgie breeders forum has discussed ivermectin a lot. We can't buy the bird 0.1% stuff without a vet prescription here, so some breeders use other things. They talk about cattle pour-on ivermectin. The pour-on stuff indicates it works on the skin, as opposed to the sheep ivermectin which is apparently an oral medication. I'm not sure if this is what your guy was talking about with the horse stuff. Given your situation, where you can't get the bird stuff at all, you might want to read through this, where it was discussed at length. It's all a bit confusing, but it might get you further along to finding a solution. However, who knows what formulas are used in different countries. forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=26852&st=0

Very informative link about ivermectin Stace I don't think this vet shop guy is this knowledge. He just wanted to sell me a product. Currently I am using powder calcium supplement and it sits down to the bottom of water bottle after an hour or so. So I am in need of any calcium supplement at earliest. There are too many restrictions on imports by customs.

Stace can you not buy from Vetafarm?
do not use the cattle pour on ivermectin which has been around for years AND it cannot be diluted. The product you should be able to buy is Scatt.

Do not consider using that calcium product stace, any overdosing will lead to death I wouldn't even consider using that stuff, Barrie. I can get it from the vet. It is only available through prescription here for birds, as far as I know. I just thought BB might be interested in the conversation about other forms of ivermectin, given the bird product doesn't seem to be available at all in the Middle East.
