I thought I'd make a thread for my lovely pets! Today we rehomed two guineapigs from a lady who said she didn't have much time to spoil them anymore so she wanted them to go to someone with a lot of free time They're both girls, and so damn cute! I'm thinking about naming them Joan and Peggy after my favourite Mad Men characters! I also have a rather large grey hamster called Wolfgang! Pictures to follow

Guinea pigs are so cute. But I have not ever seen/known of one that was actually tame. Are they tamable or was is simply the people I knew with them never put the time in?

very rare to get a nasty guinea pig, I've had 6 and all were tame to handle.

All the ones I've ever had were tame The two we just got let you stroke them, even though they're quite nervous still. I'm guessing in a couple of weeks they'll be right at home sitting on our laps and such.

I love the little squeaks guinea pigs make! Reminds me when I was a kid going into a pet shop and hearing them all in the back room...curiosity said I just had to go in there but they all shut up by the time I walked in? Must have heard me coming

I have 3 piggies, one male and 2 female, kept separate from the male. The male has always been aggressive. We bought him with another male and they had to be separated as they had blood drawing fights. Bubble, the male we have left from the pair (squeak died), is a lovely boy but he lunges at us for no apparent reason and always out of the blue. He doesn't bite hard but it is a bit unnerving to have a large rodent trying to bite you. They are sweet animals in general though and we do love Bubble, he is a real character, we just ignore him biting.

So basically the people were lazy/ didn't put the time in. Most get them because the child/ren pesters the parents and that's as far as it goes. Adults have no interest and the youngsters lose interest. Nice to see them being part of the family.

Got them for the kids, but the kids lost interest. More for me, that's what I say! Haha!
