I have been asked by my friend to help rehome her budgies as due to circumstances she can no longer keep them. She has 20 but I'm housing 5 or 6.
They are budgies that she had rehomed that were originaly in cages, but have since enjoyed an outdoor life in a very nice aviary with heated shed and she really would prefer that they went to homes where they would be in an aviary rather than a cage as that is what they've become used to. However somebody with a large indoor flight cage that could offer them much outside the cage flight time would also be good :-) None of them are tame though.
I can vouch for the fact they have been very well cared for and kept in clean hygenic conditions and wanted for nothing while in her care so its really important to her to find loving homes for them where they won't be used just to breed from then sold on.
Some of them are pretty young and some are under 3 years old, but I can get more details and pics tomorrow when I go to pick up the budgies I'm having.
As good homes are more important than money they are being offered for free, but I would like to see a pic of the set up that they will go to just to put her mind at rest that they are getting nice homes.
If anyone decides to rehome any of my friends budgies I would ask as well, if further down the line you are unable to keep them, that they could be returned to me, no questions asked, and I'll endeavor to rehome them again. We would prefer it like that as sadly budgies can end up being passed from pillar to post when things don't work out.
I'm sure between my friend and myself we could work out how to deliver budgies to someone who didn't have transport, or meet half way if it was a long distance. We are based in Cambridge.
Please pm me if you're interested :-)
