I am trying to find some good quality millet sprays. I want quite a large amount but not masses. I can find a 300g or 15 kg. There seems to be very little in between at a reasonable price.

Wow that site looks amazing , I've bookmarked it for future shopping. I got some millet from Haith's and that's good. Pine4parrots( Yvonne who makes fab safe toys) also recommended Rob Harvey to me, that's Robharvey.com. His budgie food mix looks great, but I'm using Haiths at the moment and Rocky loves it

Thank you BB that would be great. I worry about the quality of online stores or ebay. And the postage is so high, £5.99 for a few millet sprays.

www.junglegold.com/This is my favorite shop for everything edible :-) The millet spray is good quality, big bags of cuttlebone are so much cheaper than the shops on the street and there are so many interesting separate seeds you can add to your budgie seed mix :-) And they are very fast to deliver!

I registered with that site the other night Nat. I just wish the postage wasn't so high. I hate paying so much for postage when that money could go on more for the birds. I think I'm a bit tight. I do have to remind myself that I live 16 miles from the nearest big town and the cost of Diesel to get there is far more.

Yeah, the postage is high as with most website shops :-( I tend to stock pile and buy a hell of alot of stuff at once. The cheapness of some of the products they sell cuts out the postage a bit so I buy a years worth of iodine blocks, cuttlebone etc as its still cheaper than the high street pet shops if you add it all up.

The problem with millet sprays is that they all come in one batch from Asia, often in the company of many mice , at the moment the merchants with the best stock rotation and sales have some quality sprays, i pay £25 per 15 kilo box from my local corn merchant

My avian vet advised me not to feed millet as it is too rich and can cause liver problems??? My budgie developed such a problem when he was about a year/year and a half old. We soaked his seed daily after that and avoided millet. I always felt a bit mean as he loved it, but I had to do as the vet said.

Millet spray given from time to time is fine, with balanced diet of seeds, vegetables and fruits.
