I made my way through the bungalow to the conservatory at the back to retrieve my specs as my father wanted me to sort out his afternoon pills.
Then I noticed it....
a pigeon on the conservatory door-mat.
We looked at each other - neither moved. Eventually, surprised that the bird didn't shoot hurriedly away, I tired a "Shoo.. go on. Off you go out! Daft bird!"
It didn't sho at all but wandered in through the conservatory towards the dining-room door. I hadn't time to fuss or wait around as "he who must be obeyed" wanted his pills sorted so I closed the inner door to the dinig-room and left a rather beautiful pigeon sitting on the next mat looking in through the dining-room window.
Pills sorted - I rushed out to the shed, grabbed my camera and snapped a photo. Soon after the pigeon wandered off somewhere.
Obviously not a homing pigeon or if it was if had the wrong address!!

Probably been blown off course and just needing a rest. Did it have a ring? We used to get them periodically as a child landing on the house and I grew up literally in the middle of nowhere. They would stay for a few hours, have a rest, maybe a drink and take off again. As I remember they were all ringed.
