Hey! So I should probably start out by saying i currently do not own any budgies In the past I've owned a Cockatiel which i got from my great-uncle a breeder who gave it to me on my 4th birthday tho i didnt really take care of it lol my mom did that fairly well. I did talk to spike (the bird) a lot and often tried feeding him, he lived till i was about 13 since he was already kinda old when i got him. So currently the only pets i do have are...
- A few Leopard Geckos - Mantecho Poison Dart Frogs - A Bearded Dragon - Fire Belly Toads and if you count my backyard coop I also have 7 Bobwhite Quails for eggs The reason I joined this forum is to gain more knowledge on the care of budgies/budgerigars, I first got interested in these adorable little parrots while spending my summer in Australia (3 months) with my grandparents who own a little budgie of their own and recently I got a bird cage from a relative that measures about 19" x 19" x 19" and was wondering if a budgie would be okay in that sized cage? I only plan on getting one since I have plenty of time to interact with the bird and constantly provide it with the social interaction that it needs but would that sized cage be okay for 1 bird? And also i go on camping trips during my school breaks for about a weak so what do you guys/gals do when your away from your little fellow?
Anyways thanks for any answers I might get

Hi and welcome to forum A 19" x 19" x 19" cage would be good for one budgie. A little out of cage time would be even better.

And the budgie would be fine at home, if there are other people behind when you leave.

Hi and welcome! Would you entertain the idea of getting more than one budgie? As they would have each other even if you had someone look after them whilst you were away. Budgies are flock animals so would love another friend to chat to
