Aww, BB, he's a lucky little guy. I see you are also using the propagator with a thermometer for your hospital cage. phoebe was asking about this in another thread. Like most parrot chicks, they also need certain temperature and humidity levels

What a sad story for poor Lovie's siblings, but he is so lucky you found him before he was killed too. He has fallen on his feet with you to care for him so well. A happy ending for Lovie, and what a beautiful bird he is becoming. We need plenty more pictures and updates please! Thank you. The Lovie's story will continue

What a story, BB - and beautifully told and illustrated. Thank you. Lovie is indeed fortunate, but how sad for his siblings. Why do you think the mum attacked them after being caring? Is this a unlovable characteristic of lovebirds? Thank you Lovebirds are not as aggressive while breeding as budgies are. This hen never showed slightest aggression before and raised the chicks as an ideal hen. I have been thinking a lot and the only thing I can understand is that the third chick had different colors than all her previous chicks. I was very surprised to see the colors as I never thought that I would get such colors from this pair. It may have made her think that the chick didn't belong to her and she attacked him. I may be wrong, but this is the only thing I see as unusual.

Oh this is a sad but happy story BB, what a lucky baby bird he is to have you, i look forward to progress reports. This indeed was very sad. I had to pick up one dead chick. The second died in my hands. We all were so sad at home and still can't forget that.

He always becomes excited when he sees me mixing his formula and hears the sound of spoon mixing in the bowl.

BB, I like your thinking regarding mum attacking the odd-coloured chick. It certainly makes sense to me. How cute is the little one? You're his mum now, BB.

BB, I like your thinking regarding mum attacking the odd-coloured chick. It certainly makes sense to me. How cute is the little one? You're his mum now, BB. It certainly feels like that Hezz. I had to adjust my sleeping hours according to his feeding time

What temperature are you keeping him at in there, BB? It starts from 95 Degrees Fahrenheit for hatchling, and gradually increased to room temperature at 8 weeks old. The temperature is adjusted as to how the chicks feather out, as chicks of different ages feather out differently.
