Is it normal for a cockatiel to mate without bonding the reason being I put my new cockatiel in with the budgies and cockatiel. Then the next morning I seen them mating and they mated several times in the last two days.
Male is grey whitefaced/pied female is lutino

Well the female ive had for a while now followed the male budgie around and the male was in a petshop with a bonded pair of tiels.

I got both from the same shop and the owner/worker told me that they arnt related and im pretty sure they were bonded in the petshop so would they remeber eachother?

I've had this with budgies before. I had a bonded pair that I had to split up, because the hen was fighting with another hen. After 5 months I reunited the pair, and off they were again preening each other and the male went to feeding the female in a matter of minutes
