Hi everyone, firstly I hope this is the right place to post this, sorry if there is a better board and I didn't see it. Some of you might remember that this isn't the first time I've had to post something like this, and I really hate doing it but my options are running out. Hopefully someone can help.
Does anybody have, or know somebody who has, an aviary that could house 3 budgies and 3 zebra finches on a long term basis in the Dawlish, Devon, UK area? I wouldn't be around to provide daily care for them as I am at uni but I will pay for their food and any other costs for things they need. They are currently living in a friend's aviary but the house has been sold so I desperately need to find somewhere for them, and quickly, as the plans I had for rehoming them fell through on Saturday. As I say, they are in Dawlish, but I don't mind them going to surrounding towns, I just need a home for them.
If you think you can help, please let me know. I'm grateful for any offers! Thank you.

Hi... I believe you can also post such requests under "Budgies Looking for Homes" which is in the main page on this site
As far as homing the budgies.. I wish if I could.. but I stay a few thousand miles away from UK.. :-(

Oh, not sure how I missed the other board! Probably in too much of a rush to post. Thank you for pointing it out, could a mod please move the thread for me (or if I can do it myself, please explain)?

Thanks for moving the post, Hezz. Good news though - I found somewhere that will take the birds! They move tomorrow morning. They're going to the convalescent home about 10mins walk from where I live so I should still be able to see them. So relieved!!

Great news! So they can all stay together and give lots of pleasure to people recovering? REally, really good. And even better that you can go and visit them.
When I left home at 17 my budgies were donated to the local dental hospital and I visited them there.

That is great news, Starzie. Sorry you have to move them on, but this way you can visit and the convalescents will enjoy their company as well. And you will be able to check they are being properly looked after.

Exactly, I'm so pleased they were able to take them. I offered to keep paying for their food and everything, but they're happy to cover it themselves which is even more amazing! I'm going to try and think of something I can do for them as a thank you, though, seeing as they have done me a huge favour. It also means that the birds will have some new feathery friends, and hopefully they will bring those at the home as much joy as they do me I can't wait to visit them all when I get home from uni and see how they're getting on, I'll take a load of pictures and hopefully upload some. I've always wanted more birdy friends for them but never had the space, so this is a perfect situation for all involved. Keep having to pinch myself as I think I'm dreaming it! Can't believe how lucky I've been with this, honestly thought I was going to have to give them up for good. It's better than I could have hoped for

You have already done something for them as they will no doubt bring pleasure to those convalescing. Good result!
