A millet treat bowl, friends visiting but being shown the door when they've outstayed their welcome & a retirement home, what a life for an OAB (Old Age Budgie)!

Sounds great! I think you're doing the right thing by him. Other younger budgies can be a bit enthusiastic and therefore not the best thing to have around an older slower budgie. Now he can get a fair go at the food and the favourite perches.

Damn, I thought Inca might have been good for Jo ........ maybe he knows she just has her eye on his money. After all, little bungalows in Berkshire can be worth a tidy sum. Hope the new cage comes up trumps.

Well not much to report today, Inca declined the invitation to spend some time at Jo's , much to Jo's relief. She seems to have other things on her mind at the moment . Chilli dropped by to say hello and share his groundsel but on the whole its been a quite day, for my lot anyway . Jo says he is quite happy and i must say i think he is .

Perhaps Jo deserves a bit of peace and quiet...even from HRH too

Big clean today so Jo got to go visit the others, you would think the King had walked in . They all stopped what they were doing and made way. Everything has been very calm so he is spending the night with his mates, his choice, he actually managed to bag quite a good swing and no one knocked him down . Im pleased with the new cage, its been a busy couple of days so i haven't had time to set it up but there is no rush and im sure Jo will approve .

I had my big clean today too. Must be the day for it ...... usually for me it is Sat morning straight after breakfast. Good for Jo to have a sleep-over. And well done the others for showing the proper respect.

This is Jo's new retirement/holiday home, it will be lighter to carry from room to room when it gets hot in the conservatory and easy for my mum to deal with when he is on his hols. I wanted a shallow base so that he could get up easier if he fell and the horizontal bar at the bottom will be good for him to jump to. Its not too tall but nice and roomy to potter about. Having the vertical bars front and back will be better for the tube feeders i have and again easy for my mum to access from outside. Anyway more to come on that when its all set up and he is in which will be in the next couple of weeks when the others go back to the aviary. We have had a couple of really sunny days and even without heating on it has been very warm in there so the race is on to finish the aviary .

He had taken himself back into his cage when i uncovered them this morning and had invited Ted back for breakfast but after breakfast he showed him the door and practically asked me to close it behind him . I really do think he is enjoying his own space which is reassuring for me.
