Our new budgie arrives tommorrow. At present I have one set of bowls for food and water, I know these have to be cleaned every day and I have made up a solution of FSC10 by diluting 2mls in 1 litre of water and putting it in a spray bottle. I am unsure though how to then clean everything. Do I first rinse the bowls, toys etc in warm water (can I use fairy liquid?) then dry them and then spray with FSC10 and leave it all to air dry or do I rinse again after spraying? Thanks for any help.

What I usually do is put a lot of hot water in a bowl every evening (a washing up bowl) and put all their dishes and stuff in it, add a couple of drops of F10 to the water as it is running. But before I put it all in I make sure things are free of droppings or debris. I wash everything like I would with normal washing up Then I put some kitchen towels out and put all the stuff on it to dry overnight. Every night I do this "budgie washing up" before bed

I wash up everything too with washing up liquid, rinse and then spray with diluted FS10. I then dry with kitchen towel

If I'm doing a quick wash I remove any debris then spray with F10, give them a good clean then spray again and leave to dry. The weekly clean, they all go in the dishwasher.

I am the lucky one in that the only thing that needs a daily clean is the water dispenser. I have two of these, one is in the cage the other gets cleaned with F10 and a clean cloth then left to dry. Joey is a very clean budgie and chews nothing. The cage bottom gets vacuumed every other day and then sprayed and a clean cloth mops it up and it is left to dry. The grid gets the same treatment. Once a week or so all the perches and the cage interior get a good wipe down with a cloth sprayed with F10. So far I have not had any problem with Joey getting ill, but then there is only one bud.

Wash with warm soapy water and rinse. Spray with diluted F10Sc and leave to dry. Remember it's birds safe.
