I was given this budgie named BONNO1 but I have no details about it. He is very tame. Can't fly just flops to the floor comes to your finger from the floor when u call him.. i was going to pop him in my aviary. But he's such a darling. Think he needs to stay inside lol i think it's a male. And a recessive pied white/cobalt. Could someone take a guess ..

Firstly, please get rid of the sand sheet on the floor of the cage. These are very, very bad for budgies' feet and can cause sores that are very hard to get rid of ...... it's called bumblefoot, if you wish to look it up. The best thing for their feet are natural branch perches complete with bark, knots and whirls, of differing thicknesses and textures to keep their feet supple and exercised. T^his will also keep their claws trimmed as well.
Secondly, his flight feathers seem all over the place in that last photo, and I wonder if he isn't a french moult budgie, which would explain why he can't fly.

What are the options for the cage base?
Branches. I will look into those. I have apple pear cherry and blackcurrant tree available
French moult. I have had a read. But his wing feather although rough looking look intact his tail only has around 3/4 feathers. He did loose his mate so maybe he was stressed I will order some nutri drops and feed him some veg and greens He only came with budgie. Millet seed. And cuttle fish. So diet may be a factor
I think they had him 6mths approx and guess from a baby he was a pet shop buy and a house move forced him to go ;-(

Welcome to the forum!
He looks lovely - hope you can get him sorted out.
Many of us just use newspaper at bottom of cage.

Opaline Spangle Sky Blue Male BB has already given you his mutation. Newspaper on the floor of the cage is the cheapest and easiest solution. In the first two photos his beak looks overly large for the size of the bird ...... it may only be the posture of the bud at the time or it could be an over-grown beak which can be due to dietary issues, or can also be an indication of liver disease. It might be worth looking into. If it is simply that the poor bird hasn't had the wherewithal to keep his beak trimmed, then a beak trim by a vet may be needed the once only to bring it back to normal. If it is the liver being affected then this also can be managed to a certain extent by dietary changes. Apple branches are good; pear ....... depending on your source, so say safe others say not ..... ; same for cherry; blackcurrent, I don't know.

She seems to be flying a bit better already she also has a death wish. Just flew in front of my dogs face. But in just a few days of being out the cage she seems to have improved. It's a bit like having a baby who crawls. Can just pic her up. Unlike my old budgie. Who I had to chase around the room while he just flew around my head. Till he decided to go back in lol so for now a crawler isn't too bad. Only time he liked me was when he landed on my hand to mate with me lolol. He was a randy little man.
I've put lots of things in the cage. Paper, plaited cotton, fruit, But still no playing. Downloaded a budgie sound dvd she does. Chirp to some of it
I have trimmed her beak and claws. They were all Over grown. And added cuttle to her cage. I think this may be the picture making it look bigger but the tip was def overgrown by 2mm ish it looks normal now . I will add a few more head shots. Just incase.
Thankyou for all your tips ;-)
Can't wait to make her a fleece swing. She loves. Material and chewing ..

Don't let him chew on fibres of cloth, please. These can cause all sorts of gut problems and a lot of misery. Get him pieces of soft wood - balsa, or yukka as mentioned in your other thread - these will also keep his beak trimmed naturally.

And a green normal boy named Loki I think I will call him.. From a pet store. Very friendly. But he Can fly So funny he flies off and she runs around the floor shouting. "/get down get down you can almost see her ".
Back in the cage they both just sit there lol
