quick update at last a day without rain ,so i got the door fitted on the front ,bit more involved than first thought ,i had to take the central support out before i could get the frame in ,had to take an inch of the frame nearest the house wall ,tin of expansion foam and it is fixed solid.when i finish the build will just cut straight down the expansion foam so it wont be touching the house, tomorrow is find some cladding and sort lock out, hoping to get the roof on by the weekend

I'm surprised you didn't find the doors with the locks and keys intact, knowing your luck G.

Maybe you should make a money-saving thread Gerwyn, you seem awfully good at it.

hi marianne ,shopped around for the roof sheets, and cladding could have saved a further £20 on the roof sheets if i could have fitted them in my car ,if you want to build a shed or anything ,never think the first price is the best one ,i am lucky as i can do all the work myself because its the labour that costs the money,i have rebuilt the upstairs of my house new ceilings walls floors built a new bathroom enlarged my landing, materials came to just under a £1,000 if i had a builder in to do the job it would have cost closer to £10,000,i saved £9000 great,it took me 9 months not so good, builder would have done it in 3 weeks, same as my new shed could have bought a timber frame shed 20ft by 6ft for £1000 including them erecting it time to do 1 day,i will get this shed done for around £200 but it will have taken 3 months

But then you have the pleasure of being able to say "I did it myself", (just like the little red hen ). And your wallet is fatter. There are certain things that need to be done immediately, but if they don't, why pay someone else to do what you are more than capable of doing yourself? I seriously wish I had a handy-man. I think I am more handy than my "handy-man", lol.

hi marianne ,i got to get on with it and get it finished ,i have been offered a visit to barry mills in plymouth its a fair distance from me , he has some quality birds and has offered me some at a good price ,to start me off on the exhibition road,i have a few reasonably good birds and as you know i sold a load of birds last week, they did me proud and i learned a lot by keeping them and now a new beginner is doing the same,i really want to get into the exhibition side and a big shed with plenty of room and all mod cons is the first step
