Hezz I am so glad to hear little Spyro got through his anaesthetic. The poor mite won't be eating because he is feeling out of sorts and in a strange environment. Apple and Paddy wouldn't eat when they were admitted at the vet, it was the crop feeds keeping them going. Hopefully once he gets a bit more comfortable he will come round and be tempted with your grass and millet I look forward to hearing some positive news and keeping everything crossed for him. My flock send tweets for him

Once again, thank you everyone, for all the positivity - keep it coming, please! Maybe all of you on the other side of the world can do a "class action" for Spyro; bundle them all up together and send them across as one big bundle rather than numerous small ones ...... sounds like a plan to me. Okay, some good news: Spyro is home. He started to nibble his millet so didn't get a crop feed this morning, is looking bright still, and calling out to the others before I got him through the front door. I think he is happy to be home, but I know for sure he isn't doing the leg any favours. He has no perches, needing to keep from having the broken leg pulling down as it would on a perch, but is insisting on flying to the side of the cage and then has trouble getting back down without a thump. He has AB's and anti-inflammatories to be given twice a day for the next week. (He is either going to really love me or hate the sight of me by this time next week.) Next Friday we have to go back early and he will be in for the whole day - Karen will again give him a little gas, change his plaster and check the leg. Possibly with another xray. I hope not; this is hurting my pocket, but whatever it takes, really. I may have some more news then regarding the future of the leg, so please don't stop sending positive thoughts; he needs them for a little while yet. I'll take a photo and post it up soon enough.

Here he is. Not the best photo, but he was a little agitated at the time. And that is only a fluffy feather attached to the bottom of the plaster.

Aw. Poor little fella. So they put plaster on, like they would a human broken leg? Must feel like an anchor to him. Glad the news is getting better.

Oh my, bless him! I bet the reason why he didn't eat first off was because the after effects of the anaesthetic make you feel like and can also make you feel nauseous. Would anyone feel like eating after that? Probably not But I bet the fact he is home and is back with you means that things are returning to normal for him and he should start to pick up no end. He is one determined and brave little guy, he deserves a medal (little chin scratch from me)

That plaster looks enormous, I'm surprised he can get up as far as the bars even! What a brave boy he is truly. So so so so glad he is home, no one loves him like his mum after all. We are all very happy to hear some good news, what a long way you have come already in the last couple of days with so many hurdles overcome.x

I know it may sound silly but in my experience, animals that are well loved and have a good life seem to bounce back much quicker than others. Spyro certainly has all the love he needs and couldn't want for a better life. So this little guy will be fine.
