Yes sad news but its not over yet!! I dont know why i've started a new thred but i have. Anyway back to the story 2 new birds Sparky and Bluey i had Sparky first he was only 4 months when i got him and within a month i'd got him so he'd fly round the room and land on my outstreched finger not bad eh. Then Bluey arrived he's a rescue bird and he was ill when he came to me he'd been unintentionaly badly treated and passed around alot he's only 1.5 yr and i'm his 6th owner. I kept them apart for awhile but as soon as Bluey arrived Sparky forgot his training but i think there'll be plenty of time for that later. Bluey's been to the vets twice just before i got him but apon my insistence (and my wallet) that time he saw one of the none bird savy vets but last week after no improvement i got him to Pred whos the practice manager and altough not an avin vet he one of the two more bird savy vets there having kept Budgies himself anyway he had a good look at Bluey and said he's fairly sure its his kidneys and dose'nt give him much chance. Its sutch a shame and he's a lovely looking little fellow with his rich blue body and a white face his feathers on his face cover part of his beak it has the effect of makeing the 'v' of his beak appear to be at wide angle so it looks well y'know like he's smileing. I got him home and decided to put him and Sparky together sod the training for now, lets let him have the company of his own kind for his last i dont know days ? weeks ? whatever. Because people havnt been too good to him. He and Sparky have took to each other. Its kind of nice to watch although Sparkys alot younger he dose'nt pester Bluey much, Bluey spends quite alot of time asleep and Sparky just go's about his buisness or just sits next to him sometimes he even sings to him. At night thay sleep next to each other. I still have a go at training them and today i got my finger within an inch of Bluey, and Sparky who was outside the cage came shooting over and started shouting and squarking at me almost as if he was saying "leave him alone dont you know he's ill". So it seems between Sparky and i we'll try to make Blueys last days as happy as we can. And i suppose i'll have to sort Sparky out when his new mate finaly leaves. But thats it no more sick birds, then i say that but i know i wont turn one away. Its strange but in a way i feel kind of privlaged to to try and help these little sick birds, watch them fight. It tears me apart inside but on the other hand it gives me so much insperation i've just watched little Skipper fight for a year and a half and that tiny little bird never gave in even when you could see he was in alot of pain, he just wait for it to pass then his little head would fluff pu and he'd be off chomping on the millit. In the end i'm certian it was a broken heart that finaly finished him. I must be carefull that dose'nt happen to Sparky. For now i'll keep trying with Bluey even the vet said he was'nt 100% sure so you never know there's always hope but dont worry i wont let him suffer. But for now i think he's content to be with Sparky. I'll keep you informed
