Hi All, I again have few questions to ask. For the last few days (say around 3) 2 of my hens are behaving strange. They are biting the cage wire continuously, like almost all the time. Though the males are not doing any such thing. One of the hen was trying to flip their food plate with its beak . It seemed quite strange to me. Can anyone help me with what I should do? Thanks.

hens like to chew especially when they are coming into breeding condition! they tip the plate because she can, just like a 2year old child x

Get them pieces of bark or soft wood such as balsa to chew on. They all enjoying destroying this sort of thing - it is what they would be using to line a nest with.

My hen sometimes has a go at biting the cage bars, Sid never does so I'm not sure why she does it, could be frustration at Sid always chasing her away from where she wants to be!
