Hi --iwas reading a thread concerning bonding ..this fella had his hopeful pair in together for 3weeks but they didn't seem to be liking each other that much ..my question is ...when wanting to pair up ..how long is long enough to know whether they will make a pair ?

It should only take a few days when in prime breeding condition, a trick i do is introduce the hen to the breeding cabinet first so she can settle and inspect her nest.I will leave her for three days than introduce the sex mad cock(this is how it's done in the wild the hens takes off to find their nests and the cocks follow a few days later) she will be very eager to mate with him 80% of the time or hide in her nest. If she hides in the box you will need to keep a eye on the pair to make sure they bond otherwise she will just stay in the box and lay infertile eggs.
