HEY EVERYONE ..GREETINGS,
Well i thought of breeding budgies,so i wanted some help from u guys. The thing is,i have everything required to breed(food, water, supplements, cuttlebones, nest boxes etc) but the main thing is i really don't know how many birds (precisely males and females) are required to start a good breeding.my aviary cage is 3x1x1.5(lxbxh)feet of size.so please tell me how many pairs of birds i need to put in it so that breeding is done without any quarreling.does any harm happen if i put two males and two females together..does it take time???
waiting for some urgent reply thank you

Don't put all your birds in together; separate them into pairs so they have their own space and nest box. That size in my opinion, but not being a breeder is only good for one pair. Putting four birds, particularly if they are nesting into that confined space is looking for a tragic outcome. Colony breeding is not really recommended, and then only if you have a huge aviary for them, and know what you are doing.
Most breeders recommend having at least two pairs laying at the same time, so if one couple get into trouble you are able to foster chicks/eggs to the remaining pair. You definitely need another breeding cage.
