Hello everyone Thank you for having me on these forums..or is it fora..meh! I am Louise from Glasgow, and we have just found our new addition to the family..came home tonight..we are not stuck on a name yet of course..maybe Pascal, but he/she is a pastel-ish kind of budgie around 8 weeks old..I will take some pics once wee one has settled in. Think wee one is a bit tired now..however has been joining in chirping away while human wee one 6yrs has been playing playstation..yep Minecraft..she is making a Pascal statue..so that may be the name..will consult my big yin when she comes home from visiting her grans in a bit I have to say we are in love already..after a few months reading up, and looking on here and in the library...it is a different ball game getting one home...the bird looks tired now so I may put a cover over..the cotton baby sheet I was going to use had a hot chocolate spill earlier..grr..so hopefully a light fleece will be ok..it may get pretty chilly overnight anyway.. Sorry for the ramble..I am just so excited! Thanks for reading xx

Hi Louise, welcome to the forum. I'm not far away in Paisley Pascal is a good name! Is this the first budgie you have had? For photos you will need to join photobucket or similar and upload there then onto here. I look forward to seeing photos of your new feathered baby

Hi Louise and welcome. I am not very far away ....... from me, but nowhere near Scotland. Baby budgies are the biggest time-wasters God put on this planet, I feel. There goes your housework!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome..he/she is the first budgie I have had..we did have one when I was little as a family pet many moons ago! A wild coloured green hen called Jocky Yeah Pascal can get to the seed dish easily now..I moved a perch down right next to it..he is definitely having a good feed and water now..can hear the husks hitting the living room floor and I am getting a telling off for sitting with my back turned while on this laptop I have taken a wee picture with my rubbish phone camera..my new camera I got for Christmas needs an SD card of course, just realised :)The pic is a bit shaky/blurry and doesn't do poor Pascal any justice colourwise either..let's try this photobucket linky thing..

Hello and a warm welcome from me. Sorry I'm bit late to the party I have no excuse. I think Pascal is a splendid name. You'll soon get used to posting pictures, we love them on here.

Thanks OP I am getting the jist of the forums..it's a great..liking the custom avatar.. and you all have fabulous budgies..just annoyed I have no SD card laying about..I am stuck in the past with my USB sticks..bah! Hehe! My last and first digi camera is so old it had a 'huge' SD card or memory card..sadly it is broken..many pics coming soon..I suppose wee Pascal will be grateful without a big 'eye' pointing at him/her Think I will pick 'him' for a bit..I am not too fussed on sexing or colour type..just concentrating on settling him in at the mo and making sure he is healthy, he is used to the 'big hand' going in..not flying away or panicking..which is good as I am getting used to the cage myself!..Might put some veggie oil on the cage doors for a smoother opening see if that helps..tomorrow will be a challenge pulling out the drawer at the bottom without too much disturbance...I will put down newspaper, seems to be the way..the sand sheets given seem to be a bit too rough imo..he has little pink delicate looking feet just now! Here I am rambling again..off to sit with Pascal now
