i may have a problem

I bought my 2 budgies just before Christmas hopefully to breed in the future I was told they were pretty young which I thought so too as  the colour of their sere`s were bareley visable.  I  have studying them really closely and they are are displaying as if they are mateing

I am not sure I thought they were just bonding at first but today is different every time she goes to the floor he follows I keep going to see what is going on but I never see much he usually flies up before I get there

I've only had my two boys for 8 months so I'm no expert. There's a lot bonding behaviour but the male getting on the females back is what can lead to baby budgies! From what I've read for the majority of the time if there's no nest the female won't lay an egg. Are you worried about them mating while they're still so young? I can't remember the age a hen should be to safely have her first clutch.

budgie2, the birds will bond and display a lot of together behaviour but going the full monty and mating is a bit doubtful at this age. Following each other around is normal flock behaviour. I don't think you need to panic just yet.

I am not worried really I was more concerned for their health I thought I might have to separate them, they seem to have calmed down again now preening and kissing each other
